TASK Party
Inspired by the contemporary artist Oliver Herring and other TAB teachers, we started the school year with a task party. It is a fantastic activity that sets the tone for collaboration, material and idea exploration and problem solving in the classroom. Students select a task out of a box and then they complete the task, but have to use design and out of the box thinking in order to be able to complete the tasks.
TAB Art Classroom
TAB classroom does not follow the factory style logic where all students create similar artwork. In a choice based classroom, students are the artists that choose the studio or studios they want to work in and make choices of materials, ideas and processes. This approach develops all the 21st century skills and teaches students to think like artists.

Gelatin Printmaking
Gelatin printmaking is a really exciting technique. It is a form of mono printing which means no two prints are the same. The softness of the gelatin allows the artists to capture and print intricate details. The emphasis is on the process of experimenting with textures, shapes and and experimenting rather than on the final outcome.

Art Auction Unity
Join the QSI Skopje Art Auction on Thursday, March 24t, at 6:00pm. All proceeds will be donated to a special fund to help the local staff from QSI school in Kyiv.
The theme of our artworks is 'unity'. Take a look at the fantastic collaborative artworks created by QSI students. Collaborative art projects help unite students, allowing their diversity and creativity to shine through.
Also, thanks the families who decided to contribute with art pieces for the art auction. Art has the power to bring people together!
The theme of the art auction was developed by our secondary student Mariah Brown, who is also the curator of the exhibition. She is working on this as part of the Selective Unit Curating. Read her text about the art selection here:
UNITY
In the midst of today’s social, political, and environmental climate, there is one thing that people should all agree is needed: unity. In recent years, we have experienced hardships such as Covid-19 which isolated us from one another and continues to impact our society today; coupled with rising political tensions and the advancement of global warming, there is not a better time where unity is needed. This art auction explores the theme of unity with several intriguing paintings created by our very own QSI Skopje students.
As seen by the mixed medium artwork by the five and six-year-old class, the depiction of paper houses of different colors, sizes, and designs combined on a single canvas emulates the world as it should be - diverse but together as one. This exploration of combining multiple elements is seen throughout this art selection. Students use masking tape to create geometrical shapes and paint them with different colors or designs which reinforces the theme of unity. Other students display the same meaning by using abstract painting methods and fusions of different complementing colors.
This year’s QSI art auction not only provides us with artworks portraying unity, but also exhibits the
talents of QSI’s artists. The funds made from this auction will go directly to QSI Kiev families that have been affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
